Sissinghurst castle, Kent
On an overcast March day I took a trip to Sissinghurst in Kent. The home of Vita Sackville West and Harold Nicholson from 1930-1968. I suppose this was technically off season for Sissinghurst, as it’s world famous for it’s gardens, designed by Vita, and heading there in early spring didn’t give the full effect as it would in late summer. Nevertheless, I don’t live in Kent anymore so I have to go to these places when I’m visiting. I didn’t get many photos of the interior of the tower or the exhibition that was on in the barn, I won’t lie I forgot. It was just so nice to be walking around the estate, it has such a peaceful energy to it.
If you go off season you can get access to the cottage in the grounds, that Vita and Harold used as their home. It’s closed in summer, and you’re not allowed to take photos inside but it’s worth the guided tour to look around.
